Butch came to our family in a poor state, he was a rescue dog.
Where he used to live with his owners at that time, Butch was under fed and locked in a small room.
When he came to us the first thing that we did was to take him to the pdsa, thats where we were
given the choice to have him put down or take him on and try to build him up.
Well we took him home and cared for him, we didnt know for how long but we wanted to give him that
chance.
we found out that Butch was left in an empty house for some time and that was why he was skin and
bones when we got him.
We had to feed him chicken and rice 4 times aday until the vet adviced us it was okay to put him on
dry mix with a little bit of dog food.
Butch grew into a lovely german shepard and was a big part of our family, he didnt have a name when
he came to us nor could he bark.
I named him Butch because in my heart i knew that he would grow to be a grand dog with lots of tlc
and he did.
Butch started to get sick again after a year and we took him back to the pdsa, they gave us the bad
news that he had internal injuries and that it was best to put him to sleep.
The injuries was due to his poor life that he had from when he was a puppy.
The vet got us to sign some papers and then they would let him pass away peacefully, they sat Butch
down next to us and we held him until he died.
It broke my heart seeing my dog fall asleep when he had so much to live for, no other animal has
taken his place.
Butch will always be a big part of our lives.
Always remembered.

Your favorite chair is vacant now...
No eager purrs to greet me,
No softly padded paws to run
Ecstatically to meet me.
No coaxing rubs, no plaintive cry
Will say it's time for feeding,

The things you won't be needing;
But I will miss you little friend
For I could never measure,
The happiness you brought me
The comfort and the pleasure.
And since God put you here to share
In earthly joy and sorrow;
I'm sure there'll be a place for you
In Heaven's bright tomorrow.
God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be.
So He put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working paws to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us;

Beyond the Rainbow
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.
